The Holly Hill Training Center is a private Thoroughbred training and lay-up facility located in the heart of South Carolina’s Lowcountry. The main farm is comprised of one hundred and fifty-four acres with twenty-five grass paddocks, ranging in size from ½ acre to ten acres. The training barns contain a total of 125 modern, well-ventilated 12 x 12 stalls with 15-foot aisles.
The training facilities include a six-furlong racetrack with a four-stall starting gate, a fifty-foot round pen and a six-horse covered EquiGym walker. Separate training and lay-up barns enable the delivery of individualized treatment and training regimens depending on the conditioning needs of the horse. HHTC is a licensed USDA quarantine facility and is one of only a few east coast facilities that can maintain a horse in training during quarantine.
HHTC is rigorous in its attention to the safety and health of horses on the farm. The farm has a full-time night watchman and secured entry onto the farm premises. HHTC uses only top quality hay and grains and develops its feed programs with the help of a professional equine nutritionist; feed programs may be customized for an individual horse’s requirements.
