In the early spring of 2010 we purchased two thoroughbred broodmares from a long time client of my father's horseshoeing business in Middleburg, VA. As Mr. Keys is gradually moving more into a retirement lifestyle, his wife suggested that he start selling off his stock of thoroughbreds. An offer was presented to my father to pick out whichever mares he wanted. After careful consideration, and the realization that it was a deal too good to pass up, we purchased two of Mr. Key’s best broodmares on a very generous offer.
We now have 2 yearling fillies, a weanling filly, and a weanling colt out of those two mares, and they are back in foal again to Smarty Jones, and Touch Gold.
Our two yearling fillies will break and train for a short period this fall before turning out for the winter. Back in training early next spring, they should be ready to race next summer!
