Dan Metzger became president of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association in July, 1999.
Metzger represents TOBA on the International Grading and Race Planning Advisory Committee, International Cataloguing Standards Committee, International Breeders Federation and the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium.
Prior to joining TOBA, Metzger directed various aspects of communications, simulcasting, marketing and licensing for Breeders’ Cup Limited and was general manager of Cawood Ledford Productions, a sports broadcast and publishing company in Lexington. He serves on the executive committee of the Thoroughbred Charities of America and on the board of directors of the Winner's Federation and is a past president of the Turf Publicists of America.
A native of Fort Wright, Ky., Metzger attended the University of Kentucky, where he received a B.A. degree in 1984.
