Dr. Jeffrey Berk

Biography: 

Dr. Berk began his veterinary career as a racetrack practitioner, and subsequently started a practice in Ocala, Florida specializing in young horses in training and thoroughbred sales work.  He served on the AAEP’s Executive Committee as treasurer of the AAEP and AAEP Foundation from 2009-2011.  Previously he served as a director-at-large on the AAEP Board.  He has served on the AAEP’s Professional Conduct & Ethics Committee, Finance Committee, Biologics & Therapeutic Agents Committee, Purchase Exam at Public Auction Forum as moderator, Racing Committee subcommittee and various other task forces for the association.  He has also served on the boards of the Florida Association of Equine Practitioners and the National Association of Two Year Old Consignors. 

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Berk was previously a partner at Ocala Equine Hospital, and is currently residing and practicing in Lexington, Kentucky with Equine Medical Associates.  His primary practice focus is international thoroughbred sales work.  His horse ownership has included the purchasing, breeding, selling and racing of thoroughbreds.
