Donald Dizney found his passion for Thoroughbreds at Keeneland in Lexington while attending the nearby Eastern Kentucky University on a football scholarship. He was part of the excited infield crowd at Churchill Downs, when a Florida-Bred, Carry Back, triumphed in the 1961 Kentucky Derby. There his dream of owning a Thoroughbred began to stir. His dream came to realization with the purchase of the farm now known as Double Diamond, in 1983.
