Syndicate Bio
Barry Irwin began forming racing partnerships in 1987 under the stable name Clover Racing Stable and in 1992 changed to Team Valor. In 2009 the stable was renamed Team Valor International reflecting the increasingly global nature of Team Valor's racing goals and racing stock.
His first syndicated runner Political Ambition became his first Grade 1 winner when winning the Hollywood Derby. Since then, 305 horses syndicated in the partnership format by Irwin have won 347 stakes races, including Grade 1 events in the United States, Canada, France, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, China and South Africa.
Team Valor is the perennial leader among North American-based public syndicate groups in terms of stakes victories and individual stakes winning horses.
Horses syndicated by Irwin have become Horses of the Year in the United Arab Emirates and the states of Florida, Ohio, Texas and Michigan.
Champions have been developed by Irwin-syndicated runners in the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, Italy and South Africa, as well as the states of California, Texas, Florida, Michigan and Ohio.
Team Valor International buys, as well as breeds, top horses. In the same year, the stable bred Animal Kingdom who was voted Champion Colt at 3 after winning the $2-million Kentucky Derby and went on to glory in the $10-million Dubai World Cup, and Pluck who won the $1-million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf.
