Columbia Equine Hospital, founded in 1983 by Dr. Scott Hansen, is located in Gresham, Oregon. Originally started as a one doctor ambulatory practice, Dr. Hansen quickly realized that his patients could benefit from care that could not be offered in the field. The hospital now supports the ambulatory practice that has grown to three full-time veterinarians and one full-time veterinary dentist. Columbia Equine Hospital covers the geographic area of the Portland metro area and southwest Washington.
Our mission is to provide the finest equine care and to be partners with our horse owner clients in the medical treatment of all of our patients. We believe that educated horse owners make the best clients and we do all we can to provide education both at our hospital and on our website.
We are pleased to provide care to our horse patients in our large and state-of-the-art facility in Gresham. In addition, we also offer farm visits for many of our clients. The ambulatory practice is focused on performance horses, dentistry, preventive medicine, reproduction and general equine medicine and surgery.
The population of horses that are served by Columbia Equine Hospital are widely varied and include hunters, jumpers, western horses, gaited horses, race horses, trail horses, and all disciplines of show, pleasure, and pets. We treat all ages as well, from newborn foals all the way through seniors.
